"Front parlor is a step into the past."
Visitors immediately see rare and vintage treasures donated by Malden citizens. In the front room, a Bell Telephone switchboard station once employed young ladies from Malden, who connected families, friends and businesses with a polite request of "number please".
On the wall is a classic turn of the century telephone used in a country store east of Malden near Risco, Missouri, that could have been one of those many connections made by this switchboard.
